The Hero of Košare (JSK) is one of only two knives in the MGBN lineup that is not named after a specific person, but honors the fallen heroes of the Košare outpost during the 1999 conflict. A place rightly called the modern Serbian Thermopylae, where 108 Serbian soldiers, at tremendous cost, stopped the advance of two enemy brigades totaling around 5,000 troops.

This is not a legend. This is a vow.

Purpose and Philosophy

JSK is designed as a military multi-purpose knife, built for the tasks a soldier encounters in the field. It does not emphasize combat flair — its focus is maximum practicality, reliability, and durability. It is a knife for: prolonged daily carry, field and outdoor tasks, situations where a tool must work silently, safely, and without fail. Just as the heroes of Košare stood their ground without alternative, JSK is designed to be a knife you can trust without reservation.

Construction and Steel

The knife features a full tang construction, crafted from a single piece of steel, giving it maximum strength and reliability in all conditions. It is made from Böhler N690 stainless steel, a material renowned for its balance of qualities essential for modern military and field knives: high wear resistance, edge stability and long-lasting sharpness, corrosion resistance,

controlled elasticity and dependable performance under load.

N690 is steel that makes no excuses — easy to maintain, predictable, and fully functional even under harsh conditions. 

Special Edition — Memory Forged into Material

In the special edition JSK, the handle is made from handcrafted M93 micarta, laminated with original M93 combat uniform material — the same uniform worn by the heroes at Košare. Every layer, every fiber, every trace of material carries a story of courage, determination, and sacrifice. The rivets are crafted from spent ammunition casings, symbolically connecting the knife to the struggle and resilience of the soldiers who held the line. Each special edition JSK is more than a tool — it is a tangible monument to the heroes, a memory that can be held, used, and passed down.
