Stevan
$470.00
The Stevan model is not an original MGBN design, but it represents a significantly enhanced and higher-quality reimagining of the legendary Serbian Gendarmerie knife. Its proven design and practical utility were the reasons to revive this classic — not as a copy, but as a modern, fully functional tool.
The knife is named after two heroes sharing the same name — Stevan Sinđelić.
The first, Stevan Sinđelić, was a hero of the First Serbian Uprising against the Ottoman Empire, remembered for his ultimate act of courage: when his position was overrun and further defense became impossible, he blew himself, his soldiers, and the enemy into the air, choosing death over surrender. His sacrifice became an eternal symbol of unwavering resistance.
The second, Stevan Sinđelić, served in the Serbian Gendarmerie, tragically killed in service, exemplifying quiet, professional bravery and dedication to duty.
Design and Functionality
The Stevan knife preserves the recognizable silhouette and ergonomics of the original model but includes key modern improvements.
The knife features a hidden tang construction, carefully designed to provide excellent balance, reduced weight, and high reliability in practical use.
Enhancements were made with the goal of maximizing functionality, quality, and usability:
Blade tip geometry has been refined for better control, penetration, and resistance under stress.
Higher-quality materials and updated production processes ensure superior mechanical properties compared to the original model.
In the rear section of the knife, a functional portion of the handle protrudes from the rubber grip, serving as a glass breaker, without compromising ergonomics or comfort.
The handle is made from molded rubber, providing a secure grip, excellent comfort, and complete non-slip performance, even in wet or demanding conditions.
Steel and Advantages
The Stevan knife is crafted from Böhler N690 stainless steel, chosen for its perfect balance of properties for a professional and tactical field knife:
high wear resistance and long-lasting edge retention,
edge stability under impact and stress,
corrosion and weather resistance,
controlled elasticity to reduce the risk of breakage,
reliability and predictable performance in real-world use.
N690 provides a durable, low-maintenance, and dependable cutting tool — essential for professional and tactical operations.
